From Ashes

about

This track nearly didn't make it. Ironically it rose from ashes to be here. A few weeks before completion we sat down with it and it just wasn't working. It felt too sparse and too clinical.

We threw loads of new ideas at the track, chopped piano, looped up sounds and textures and slowly it began to work. A re-record of the vocals and some cool backing vocals really helped to push this one on.

On completion this track feels like a favourite, a far cry from the slightly empty track we nearly scrapped. We'd come too far to let this one go!

lyrics

Chase the dream
What’s left to believe
Endless roads
Unpicked at the seam

Chorus (Hook)
But I will not hang my head too low
Rose from ashes once before
I’ve come to far just to let this go

Labour of love
 But one that deceives
The time, the passion
Strength and belief

Chorus (Hook)
But I will not hang my head too low
 Rose from ashes once before
I’ve come to far just to let this go
